Things You Need to Know

Midlothian Heritage Theatre provides Heritage students with an opportunity to explore and learn the process of mounting a theatrical production from start to finish. The students will act in and produce at least one play or scene to be performed for the public. Students will learn about the audition process and memorization skills. Production responsibilities will include scenery, costumes, props and stage management. Administrative aspects will consist of securing royalties, marketing and publicity, playbill design, and house management. This class will aid the students in their public speaking skills, team building and ensemble experience, self-motivation and theatrical discipline. Drama helps students acquire personal resources and life skills through intellectual, aesthetic, physical and emotional development, as well as form amazing friendships.
